Heard from the Agent

I heard from the agent that I sent my book to from the conference. She said that the plot and characters are intriguing but the violence and some of the themes put it a bit out of her wheelhouse. She passed on the book. I am still waiting to hear from the publisher that I submitted to, from the conference. I am hopeful that I will hear something positive from that. I am encouraged that there is a market for my book I just have to find it.

If the publisher doesn’t work out then I will go back to cold queries. I figure that the right person is out there somewhere. I will find them even if it takes a long time. I am not going to give up on my publishing dreams. That agent made me feel like there is a place for my book on the shelf. She toid me to find an agent that deals with violence and domestic suspense.

It appears that my journey has just begun. I will keep at it until my book finds a home. I am determined to find that home hopefully in the next year if not sooner. Only time will tell if this publisher that I am waiting on will come through. I am hoping for good news on that front within the next month if not then in time for my birthday in January. It would be a great 50th birthday present to find out that I’m being published. I will keep you posted on my journey as it unfolds. Happy reading!
